City of Hamilton EDIB Policy

Hello Umbrella Families,

We are excited to share the new Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Policy developed and shared by the City of Hamilton. All licensed childcare providers in the City of Hamilton are to follow and sign off on this policy.

The EDIB Policy reaffirms the City of Hamiltons commitment to fostering equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging within the Early Years System. It also aims to integrate these principles into their existing policies, procedures and practices.

By implementing this policy, we move closer to our shared vision of ensuring all children, families and members of the workforce experience a real, lived sense of belonging in the Early Years System.

All Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton employees have signed off on this policy and we ask that all families take the time to review the policy here.
